In the last post, we discussed the trends of '70s '80s, and '90s. This post will actually be more relatable as most of my audience belong to the following generation. This is a continuation of my last post 5 decades of international fashion. If you haven't checked that out, go down to find the post.

4. The Modish millennium: The new millennium brought 'Y2K FASHION' with it. It meant that fashion was influenced by technology and had a futuristic approach to it. Metallics, monochrome, lustrous black and Grey dominated the scene. Leather skirts, mesh tops, sparkling shoes and sequined pants were seen often. Oversized sunglasses and hoop earrings along with denim jackets, wedge flip flops made the casual look. Mid-aughts commonly had yoga pants, cowl neck tops, tube tops, cargo pants, capri pants and puffy jackets trendy. In 2005 skinny jeans originated and in 2006 it evolved to be an international staple. In early 2009, many trends from the late 1980s and early '90s revived. The animal prints, polka dots and neon colours were some of them.

5. The Trendy 2010s : The early 2010s replicated vintage clothing. The trends of the 2000s didn't fade that easily. Skinny jeans especially acid-washed, metallic dresses, capris etc were still common. Finally, in the mid-2010s, the neon colour was out of fashion. Monochrome was now a dominating trend internationally. Crop top, oversized jackets, romper suits etc were in vogue. Loose Capri pants and Palazzo pants were introduced in the mid-2010s. Use of denim became very minimal during the mid-2010s internationally and yoga pants, slim fit pants took over. Smaller backpacks became trendy among college students. The popular trends around 2018 and 2019 were sneakers, fringe bags, biker jackets and scrunchies worn on the head or as a wrist band. Skinny jeans are now being slowly replaced with straight-legged jeans. This decade is now going to end soon and hence new trends will pop up soon. But the fashion industry along with the entire world is now facing an abrupt halt thanks to the pandemic. Let's hope with the year ending soon we will have some cool new trends and some old trends will again breathe.

Hope this post was more relatable than the previous one. The trends repeat and hence knowing them may help you to become extra fashionable and so that you carefully choose what to reject and what to adore in the wardrobe. A new decade of fashion will take birth soon and bring trends that are more sustainable and much appreciable. Hit the love to encourage people around you.

Trends repeat themselves and hence keeping knowledge of the best trends of the past may help you to grab something cool the next time you go shopping. This post will give you a brief of the International fashion of 50 years. It is divided into two parts and this is the 1st part that digs up into the '70s '80s and '90s of international fashion.

1. The swaying 70's:

Disco emerged as a subculture in the seventies, hence its influence was on fashion too. The early '70s continued the hippie look from the '60, tie and dye, bell bottoms and embroidered blouses were pretty common. The mid-'70s popularized the T-shirts. It was now not considered as an undergarment and vivid designs, prints flooded the markets. Disco became an essential part of the culture and the disco looks were in vogue. Youngsters swayed under the dazzling glitter ball and sequins became trendy. But in the late '70s, the relaxed looks were popular and tight-fitting clothes were replaced by loose clothes.

Here is Diana Ross, one of the top fashion icons of the seventies.

2. Effervescent Eighties:

The early '80s were inspired by the late '70s. The brightly coloured clothes were out of the picture, rather various shades of brown like tan, cream or even sometimes orange were seen often. During the mid-80s bright colours were trendy again. Women at the workplace were now more confident and garments were accordingly made. Shoulder pads and fingerless gloves lived in the 80s,

Madonna existed as an influential fashion icon of the 80s. If you want to see another fashion icon of the '80s find the post about top 10 looks of the People's Princess below.

3. Nascent Nineties:

The early nineties were dominated by neon colours along with bold geometric prints such as triangles, zig-zags and pop arts of comic illustrations. The leggings and athletic wear came into the scene. The late 93 and early 94 were highly influenced by the grunge fashion, Ripped jeans, mom jeans, combat boots, band T-shirts were commercial. The mid-nineties had a feminine touch and tailored skirts, babydoll dresses and animal prints were high on demand. The work attire followed power dressing norms, i.e. conservative style like tailored suits and shoulder-padded jackets along with darker colours like black and navy blue. Finally, the late nineties fashion had a big Asian influence on it. International designers introduced khadi, paisley etc. Dresses were inspired by Bollywood and Indian fashion got an international appreciation.

This was the 1st part of of the 50 years of international fashion. Hope you liked it. Keep loving and sharing. The next part will be out soon. Till then take care and stay indoors.

With the cases of Covid 19 booming just like fake news on whatsapp does, our lives are becoming digital. With online classes, conferences and all that jazz, here are some tips and tricks to incorporate style during work from home.

1. CALL FOR COLLAR DETAILS : As the online calls focuses just above the waist so will this post. Choose clothes which have stylish necklines or pretty collar details. If not so you can go for tops which have self prints, details around bust or are textured to make your look stand out.

Lets take a moment to appreciate the cute spider hanging from lace.

2. SPRUCE UP THE SLEEVES

On calls, the other part that is exposed except your face is your hands. Look for tops with beautiful sleeves. Go for puffed, layered , bishop or any other sleeve flattering in your closet.

3. JAZZING UP WITH JEWELLERY : For jewellery I recommend going for classy studs and petite pendants. Avoid dangling earrings or large hoops which looks awful when only your face is viewed. Put up a nice bun or pull the pony tail or just put a hair band to avoid the tresses falling over your face. As I said earlier, take care of your hands too, stack a ring or two or a simple bracelet and put a flattering nail paint.

4. SCARFS AGAIN : I cannot go without mentioning scarf on my posts every now and then. Can I ?? If you have just rolled out if the bed and are in no mood of finding even a shirt from the pile of clothes then just add a scarf around the neck and BAM !! you look as if you have just rolled out of a fashion magazine.

5. FINALLY THE FACE : My last and final tip for this post will be, even if you don't brush, atleast wash your face and remove the drool marks you got dreaming about binging at your favourite restaurant post pandemic. Apply some moisturizer to look hydrated.

Now if you are in school then please do attend the online classes and keep your cameras on, because trust me your seniors had strict attire rules. And if you are a college student then I hope I gave you some inspiration to turn on the camera cause you too know you will never get this time again.

Share these tips and tricks with your classmates, juniors or seniors if they too are struggling with online classes. Also do like this post to show some love. Take care, stay indoors, and support people you can in any possible way.
