For us, the Indians, late September or early October brings a spark of joy as the festivals knock on our door and bring us new energy, great spirit and spread the splendid aura. Navratri, Vijay Dashmi, Dhanteras, Diwali all come one after another to embark the festive season. Amidst the rush of cleaning, making desserts and forwarding the same message to everyone on WhatsApp we forget about ourselves. Hence here are 5 tips and additional 5 Pro tips to look amazing without much effort this festive season.
1) ADD FUSION TO YOUR LOOKBOOK:
Go and mix up your Indian and Western wear to form a new trendy fusion look. You may pair a halter neck top with lehenga, or a graphic crop tee with saree or go for the effortless kurti on jeans look. Indo-Western looks are easy to create as there are a lot of options to play with without investing a lot.
PRO TIP: Opt for different styles on different occasions. For an instance, if you are wearing saree on Vijay Dashmi go for a kurti on Diwali.
2) ACCESSORIZE RIGHT :
Though Indian jewellery is all about heaviness, over-accessorizing with makeup may give you a bit trying too hard look. Go for light makeup if you are planning for heavy jewellery or vice-versa. Also pairing the jewellery right matters a lot. If you wear heavy jhumkas, keep your neckpiece simple, if you plan to wear a gorgeous ring, tone down the bangles.
PRO TIP: Go for a wristwatch instead of bulky bangles to add a quotient of modernity to the traditional vibes.
3) STOP BEING THE CINDERELLA:
Ditch those ill-fitting, uncomfortable stilettoes. Instead, opt for edgy looking wedges to run around the house in leisure doing errands and clicking selfies with a duck face to upload them on Instagram captioning 'PUJA VIBES !'
PRO TIP: Go for traditional flat juttis if you own one.
4) PLAN BEFORE THE D-DAY :
Plan out your outfits before a day or two by trying them on. Because all of us have gained some extra pounds, thanks to the lockdown and all the chefs available on YouTube.
PRO TIP: Though festivals are all about bright yellow, orange and pink, go for darker colours like Indigo, purple or even black as they tend to give you a slimming look.
5) THE PANDEMIC REMINDER :
Along with gaining weight, there is also a drastic chance of getting the virus amidst the fun of festivals. Therefore, follow all the covid etiquettes, wear masks, follow social distancing and do not forget to click a lot of pictures and post them online.
PRO TIP: The sales are on, if you wish, grab some matching masks online.
Do let me know what all plans you have for the merrymaking!! Till next week take care, see ya, keep sharing !!
