Monica was certainly the reason behind all the six of our beloved characters stayed glued together. She was perhaps the first character everybody fell in love with.

May it be her caring nature for her friends or how competitive she became often, she always won our hearts. She cooked and cleaned and consoled everyone in the group and gave us the perfect goals of a best friend. Monica was, in fact, the perfect combination of sweet spice and everything nice. Here are the top 10 looks when she rocked the red palette.

1) THE SCARLET CARDIGAN/ SWEATER:

She wore this beautiful red sweater with floral details and polka dots on the occasion of Christmas. The 1st Christmas of all the six of them together, it was a perfect symbol that she was the real Santa in the group.

(S1E10 The one with the Monkey)

Another beautiful dress she wore in the same episode was this beautiful burgundy piece.

2) THE RED TURTLE NECK:

She wore this casual look again in season one which perfectly suits the Indian weather. She wore this with dark denim when desperately tried to prove she wasn't a responsible freak. (S1E6 The one with the Butt)

3) THE BURGUNDY HALTER NECK GOWN:

This burgundy halter neck gown was absolutely stunning even though Monica's condition wasn't. It took her ages to get ready but it was worthy. (S3E2 The one where no one's ready)

4) THE FAMOUS VERMILION CAMISOLE:

This particular casual yet stunning look is still so popular that numerous people still remake it today. She wore a maroon cami over an ice blue ripped jeans and gave us major casual look goals. (S3E6 The one with the flashbacks)

5) THE BRICK RED CREW NECK BULKY SWEATER:

Who doesn't remember this girls vs. guys episode? This crew neck sweater with popping yellow shirt underneath was perfect for the quiz battle. But if only she could win it and keep her apartment. (S4E12 The one with the Embryos)

6) THE BRIDESMAID DRESS:

She wore this beautiful spaghetti strapped, side slit long candy red gown on her brother's another failed wedding. She looked absolutely stunning in it, how rude was that man who called her Ross's mother? But thanks to that we got our favourite couple of Monica and Chandler. (S4E24 The one with Ross's Wedding and S5E1 The one after Ross says Rachel)

7) THE V NECK ROSE TOP:

This was when she arranged Rachel's surprise birthday party and arranged everything except ice and cups. :P (S5E18 The One Where Rachel Smokes)

8) THE MONOCHROME RED LOOK:

This absolute powerful combination of red was worn by her on her 30th birthday. She carried a matching red bag. (S7E14 The one where everyone turns 30)

9) HER PRE WEDDING DRESS:

This plunging neck dress is such an adorable piece. The puffy ruffles at the neck make it much more attractive. She looked like a Goddess dressed in scarlet and prettier than what she looked at her wedding. (S7E23 The One with Chandler and Monica's wedding part 1)

10) THE CHECK GARNET AND BLACK DRESS :

This short dress combined with her gorgeous (and ultra-expensive ) boots was another casual yet stylish look she sported. (S8E10 The one with Monica's Boots)

Monica was the perfect daughter, caring sister, motherly friend, dearest lover and we hope she was a great mother too. There are many many other episodes where she looking stupendous in red. And why not it complimented her dark hair and gave her the powerful look she deserves.

If you love my post or you love Monica then hit the love below make it red, scarlet or garnet whatever you want. Comment down and let me know which look you liked the most. I will come up again with something fun next Thursday.

The last post was about the influence of Bollywood on the Indian Fashion industry in the '70s, '80s, and '90s. This is the continuation of the previous post if you haven't checked it out yet then go and find it here

The 2000s : Post millennium, there was a rise in influence of the west on the Indian fashion. Manish Malhotra brought back the love of sarees in 2000 by introducing us to the cocktail saree. It gave a trendy look to the traditional saree with its pastel colours and elegantly flowy chiffon. This decade witnessed Bollywood collaborating with top Indian designers to heighten the significance of Bollywood in the fashion industry. The red saree that Sushmita Sen draped in 'Main Hoon Na' or the golden one that our Desi Girl rocked in 'Dostana' both dominated the scene and sarees came to be the symbol of a heartthrob. Ebullient and Happy go lucky Geet from 'Jab We Met' brought a wacky yet breezy look by advertising the Patiala salwar pants with a T-shirt. The trio of 'Dil Chahta Hai' made the leather pants popular. In 2009, Manish Arora became the 1st Indian designer to showcase his designs in the Paris Fashion Week.

The 2010s: The current decade is the one in which I have grown up and to write this was the most fun amongst all the history of trends I have been jotting down. The decade mostly focused on comfort instead of glamour. Athleisure and stylish sweats prevailed in the market throughout the decade. Online shopping and social media took over our lives and every segment of the society had exposure to the new trends. The decennary switched the skinny jeans to more comfortable straight-legged jeans and palazzos. Deepika Padukone sported a lot of palazzo looks in her movie 'Piku'. Her look in cocktail also popularised the Aztec print. There was a resurgence of vintage accessories like chokers and scrunchies. Khadi became popular when the obsession for buying local began. These ten years also saw a colossal change in men's wear when celebrities like Ranveer Singh promoted popping colours and vibrant looks.

This was the last post in the history section of fashion. Hope you got some inspiration and I believe this will help you to buy some good statement pieces in future. See you next Thursday with something more interesting !! Do like share and subscribe !!

The last two posts were dedicated to the evolving trends of International fashion. Many of you asked me to dig up the trends of Indian fashion through the years. Bollywood has always been the true trendsetter in Indian fashion. Hence we will go through the trends which were inspired by Bollywood among the public. This is the first part of the post.

1) The Serene 70s :

Back then there were no institutions in India that provided formal education in fashion nor were there any famous designers, still the '70s fashion was on top of the game. There were many trends that popped up during the decade. Oversized sunglasses, winged eyeliners or the most famous polka dots that became outstanding after Dimple Kapadia adored the front tie polka dot blouse in 'Bobby'.

2) The Evolving '80s

There was a reverberation in the Indian Fashion Industry in this decade, after the 1st generation of Indian designers came into action. Another historical step was taken in 1986 when the government in collaboration with the FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology ), New York set up NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology ) in New Delhi. Meanwhile, the Bollywood made metallics and glitters trendy through movies like 'Shaan' where Parveen Babi flaunted it and who can forget Mithun's 'I am a disco dancer ' look. During the late '80s, chiffon sarees became a turn-on after Sridevi draped it numerous times in 'Chandini'

3) The Nifty '90s :

The mom jeans were famous both in India as well as internationally. Many western trends such as off-shoulder top, Halter top, chokers were pretty trendy. In 1997 Manish Arora introduced the trend of 'God Printed T-Shirt'. Urmila Matondkar in her super hit 'Rangeela' sported the casual chic look with denim shirts and high waisted colourful pants.

Another notable example of the '60s is when Madhubala, in Mughal E Azam's song ' Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya ' made the 'Anarkali' dress so popular that it was named after her character in the movie.

These were the three golden decades when the fashion industry flourished a lot. Share this to your mum maasi and bua they may find it very relatable. Hope you liked it. Keep loving sharing and spreading love.
